How It Works

Phade is a social sports picks platform where you create contests, pick games against the spread, moneyline, or totals, and compete with friends for bragging rights. There is also Streak, a daily one-pick game every account is in from day one. Here is everything you need to get started.

1

Create Your Account

Sign up with your email or a social login. Once you are in, you will land on your dashboard where you can see your contests, recent picks, and overall record.

2

Join a League (or Skip This Step)

A league is a group of friends or competitors. You can join an existing league using an invite code, browse public leagues on the Leagues page, or create your own. As the creator you set a name and an optional image. Once a league exists, any member can spin up a contest inside it. There's no separate "league admin" role.

Don't want a group? You don't need one.

Leagues are entirely optional. If you just want to track your own record against the lines, jump straight to creating a contest in the next step. You can run it solo, see your win/loss record, ROI, and analytics on your dashboard, and never invite a soul.

Tip: Share your league invite link (tap the link icon next to your invite code) to let friends join instantly.

Create or Join a Contest

A contest is a time-bound competition. It can live inside a league, or it can stand alone as a public contest anyone can join. When creating one, choose which sports to include, which bet types (spread, moneyline, totals), a scoring type, date range, and optional daily pick limit.

There are two scoring types:

  • Pick'em - every correct pick earns 1 point. Simple and straightforward.
  • Budget - each player gets a virtual budget (e.g. $1,000) and wagers on each pick at real odds. Payouts and losses are tracked just like a sportsbook, and the player with the most profit wins.
Tip: Want to fly solo? Create a public contest, don't share the link, and you've got a private picks tracker with full analytics for one. Add a friend later if you change your mind.

Browse Available Games

Head to the Make Picks page inside a contest. You will see all upcoming games for the sports your contest covers, filtered to the contest date range. Each game card shows the matchup, current lines, and odds.

Games are organized by sport, and you can filter by sport using the tabs at the top. The contest admin can disable specific games if needed.

Make Your Selections

Tap a cell on any game card to select a pick. For example, tap the home team spread to take them against the spread. In a Pick'em contest, the pick is staged immediately.

For Budget contests, making a pick works in three steps:

  1. Tap a selection - choose a side (team, over/under, moneyline). The cell highlights and a wager input appears below the game card.
  2. Enter your wager amount - type how much of your budget you want to risk on this pick. You will see your remaining budget update in the sticky bar at the top.
  3. Tap the checkmark - this confirms the individual pick and adds it to your pick slip at the bottom. You can add more picks before submitting them all.
Tip: Your pick slip is the green bar at the bottom of the screen. Tap it to expand and review all your staged picks before submitting.
6

Submit Your Picks

Once you have one or more picks staged in your pick slip, tap Submit Picks to send them to the server. After submission, your picks are locked and will be graded once the games finish.

You can remove a submitted pick before the game starts by tapping it again on the game card. This refunds your wager (in budget contests) and removes the pick.

Tip: Picks are hidden from other contest members until the game starts, so no one can copy your selections.

Track Results & Standings

Scores sync automatically. As games complete, your picks are graded and the contest standings update. Head to the contest page to see the leaderboard, complete with win/loss records, profit tracking (for budget contests), and streaks.

When a contest ends, the final standings are locked and the top finishers earn podium placements that roll up into the overall league standings.

Streak, the daily game

Every account is in from day one. There is nothing to create or join, and no money involved.

Pick One Game a Day

Open Streak from the menu or the Streak tab. Each day, tap one spread or one total on any game in any sport, then tap Lock it in. You can pick for today or up to two weeks ahead, and change or remove a pick until its game starts.

Every correct pick adds one to your streak.

  • A win adds one to your streak.
  • A loss resets it to zero.
  • A push, a voided game, or a day you skip leaves it exactly where it was.

Two leaderboards track everyone. Current ranks by the streak you are on right now, and Best Ever ranks by the longest streak anyone has reached. Other players' picks stay hidden until the game starts.

Once you have made your first pick, you get a push reminder at 11am Eastern on any day you have not picked yet and games with lines are still to come. Turn it off any time with the Streak Reminder switch in Notification Preferences.

Tip: A day runs from 4am Eastern to 4am Eastern, so a late West Coast game still counts for the day it started.
